2 years……..wow…..

2 years have flown by…. 2 years ago yesterday was Franklin’s amputation…. which means I have been part of this community in Tripawd land for a little over that…

I go back to the very first post that I wrote… November 22nd…..  and I chuckle….   I was so uneducated… I knew nothing… I sit and shake my head at myself.. why did I wait two months ffs!!!!!????   I was stupid.  *sigh*

I read that thread that Michelle posted about this morning…  which linked the facebook post  “On Losing a Dog”…   and that one line has stuck with me…

A dog can’t change the world, but they can change your world!

OMG.. how true is that…. it just hits home….  you could see everybody’s lightbulbs going on above their head.. BINGO!!!!   That’s it!!!

just like the saying.. two legs move your body, four legs move your soul.….   BINGO!!!!

I can close my eyes, open my heart and remember buddy…..  I remember

how I worried about you…

how I missed you because I was out of town and my sweetie had to go get you….

how I smiled when I heard you were doing okay and glad to be home…

Oh how I miss you….

I loved the way you changed my world sweet boy….

I'm Canadian eh? living in Southwestern Ontario. My crew consists of my sweetie Fred, my son (25yrs) and my daughter (22yrs) as well as our 4 legged kids, Maggie (12yrs) and Wilson (1year). Franklin was my sweet boy who was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in September 2012. His leg was amputated on December 4, 2012. He was the cutest tripawd on this planet. He was happy every day. His tail was always wagging. Lung Mets took him from us on May 15, 2013. Rainbow bridge became a happier place with his arrival. We miss him terribly everyday. We lost our kitty in September 2012. Diesel, who was 18 1/2 years old when he passed at home, was (and still is) the Godfather. He is missed terribly by all. They are curled up together sleeping at the bridge under the stars, happy to be sleeping buddies again.

  1. Christine,

Such a beautiful post to honor Franklin’s 2 year Ampuversary! Like you I was touched by the article Michelle had posted and also drawn to the same statement. Our furkids truly do change our worlds and that world is forever changed when they leave us to cross to the Bridge.

  2. I just love looking at that sweet boy’s face…..what a handsome guy he was, and he is definitely sweet Wilson’s guardian angel.

Yep, they ALL change our world for the absolute better….I sometimes sit and try to imagine if these loving, beautiful, incredible 3 and 4 leggers had never come into our lives…..how completely empty our lives would be……how truly thankful I am to be a better human because of them.

Love to you on this day of remembrance of your beloved Frank’n’Farter…..

  3. I can’t believe it has been 2 years. You honor Franklin and his 2 year Ampuversary like anyone should. I love these pictures. I am glad my post helped 🙂

  4. Sweet, sweet Franklin….we were all touched by you Franklin…your gentleness, your crazy clownish antics, your smile, your “smarts”. Yep, you are one of a kind!

Very nice tribute Christine…simply said, yet profound.

Always in our hearts Christine…Franklin will always be in our hearts too.

Sending you love…and love to Maggie and Mr. Wilson too.

  5. And he, and you, changed ours too Christine.

Wow, two years is just so fast. I can’t believe it either. But in this time, we’ve come to know you and your pack, and your magical Franklin, and have enjoyed having you here so much. Even in solemn times like this you manage to make us smile and see the lighter side of life, and boy do we ever need that in this community sometimes, so thank you.

We love you Franklin, always and forever.
