I was missing you yesterday big guy….

*sigh*  hey there sweet boy…

Yesterday was my “big 50” birthday…  and it was without you….  in solid form…

I remember saying to Fred when we found out you had those nasty mets in your lungs that I didn’t think you would be there for my birthday.   Sometimes I hate it when I am right.  I wish I could have shared some ice cream with you… as a matter of fact.. I didn’t even have any ice cream.

But, I know you were with me in spirit.. and when I closed my eyes and opened my heart.. and breathed deep……  I could feel you.  Thank you for being there with me.

Maggie has been sleeping on your bed.. and I snuggled down beside her last night to love her up..and guess what.  I could still smell you on that bed…  and I know she could smell you too.

She is doing awesome with Mr. Wilson… teaching him so many things and being so patient with him.  I am sure you have a paw or two in there as well.

Mr. Wilson has been sleeping on the bed the last few nights .. in your spot.. keeping watch out for us.  You would be proud!

I miss you handsome guy….  but then again.. you know that..

And in honour of it being Christmas 5 months from today…. I found this picture where my Fred took you and Maggie to get your picture taken with Santa.. This was to raise funds for the SPCA and it was Christmas 2011.  You just don’t look too impressed dude.. lol

Say hi to Diesel for me!!  xoxo

I'm Canadian eh? living in Southwestern Ontario. My crew consists of my sweetie Fred, my son (25yrs) and my daughter (22yrs) as well as our 4 legged kids, Maggie (12yrs) and Wilson (1year). Franklin was my sweet boy who was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in September 2012. His leg was amputated on December 4, 2012. He was the cutest tripawd on this planet. He was happy every day. His tail was always wagging. Lung Mets took him from us on May 15, 2013. Rainbow bridge became a happier place with his arrival. We miss him terribly everyday. We lost our kitty in September 2012. Diesel, who was 18 1/2 years old when he passed at home, was (and still is) the Godfather. He is missed terribly by all. They are curled up together sleeping at the bridge under the stars, happy to be sleeping buddies again.

  1. Oh Christine – it seems the biggest dates no matter what they are, are when our angel babies are missed the most. I hope you had a good Birthday (I’m past that one!) by holding Franklin’s memories close.

Isn’t it amazing how we think they are going to love their pic with Santa and they think we are bonkers!! That is a great picture and one that brings a big smile.

    Take care and Happy Birthday!

  2. Okay, I HATE to say I ?told you so……but…..wasn’t it just a week or so sgo I predicted Mr. Wilson would be sleeping in the bed?? Huh, huh? Yeah I did:-) 🙂 So does tht mean Fred is in te crate?

CHRISTINE! HAPPY BIRTHDAY youngster! You k ow Frank n’ Fartr is fully aware it’s your birthday! He IS waiting for you to break out the ice cream and then he’s gonna give you another sign…one stronger than just his scent on his bed….a special, very noticeable “birthday sign”! But it’s gonna take a bowl full of ice cream to kick things off.

Be sure and post how he made his presence known to you…can’t wait to see!

I LOVE the pnoto with Santa Paws!! What a delightful memory…a smile maker:-) 🙂

Maggie looks very “proud” to be sitti g on Santa’s lap!
    Frank…yeah, not impressed at all!!

I’m really glad you decided to be vorn Christine! Think of all the lives that have been touched because you are in this world! Think of Frank n’ Farter and how he so loved you and was grateful everyday because you were by his side:-)

    Happy Birthday to yoooooooouuuuuuu!

Candles on the cake everywhere…fifty of ’em!!

  3. Happy Birthday, Christine! I’m sorry your Franklin couldn’t be there with you. The sting takes a long time to go away.

I love you posts on the forums with the poems and stories about dogs passing on. They’re so comforting.

My heart breaks for you. I hope you’re able to celebrate your birthday next year with some ice cream without being sad 🙂 Although I’d prefer cake… with lots of icing!!!
