Happy Hollow’ een and then some….

Yup.. I said Hollow….   which was how I felt a little while ago….   facing the year of “firsts:”…   and today was the day we had talked about and joked about earlier this year… we were going to dress up Franklin as a pirate and get a wooden leg or a hook for his costume…   It is probably an old costume for Tripawds… but we thought he would be the best pirate out there…   after all.. he was the  Frank’n’fart’ arrrrrrrrrrrrr

I think today when I get home… everyone deserves pig ears to celebrate what would have been Franklin’s first Tripawd Halloween!!

Happy Halloween big guy….   I hope there are plenty of treats in the pumpkin patch at the Bridge!!

Since I have figured out how to post video links here.. I just have to share another one or two…

First.. Mr. Wilson was standing outside the door looking up at the pergola a week or so ago.. IT was dark and I thought.. what has gotten this little guys attention… I looked out and thought.. oh oh.. a raccoon?  grabing my phone and opening up the door.. I see this….

a leaf.. twirling on a strand of a web….?  Fascinating…….   obviously to the mind of a pup!!!

And a little proud bragging moments…   Wilson has beenthrough his level one training at obedience school and we are now onto level 2.  Here we are practicing the “Down” command, with hand signal from a distance.  This works for when your dog is loose, or perhaps in a dangerous situation like across the street and you want then to drop where they are so they don’t get hurt…   We start out with baby steps.. but we are now at about 10 feet away with the command…

Needless to say.. Maggie is playing along as well.. lol

He’s getting better.. and learning.. every day!!

I'm Canadian eh? living in Southwestern Ontario. My crew consists of my sweetie Fred, my son (25yrs) and my daughter (22yrs) as well as our 4 legged kids, Maggie (12yrs) and Wilson (1year). Franklin was my sweet boy who was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in September 2012. His leg was amputated on December 4, 2012. He was the cutest tripawd on this planet. He was happy every day. His tail was always wagging. Lung Mets took him from us on May 15, 2013. Rainbow bridge became a happier place with his arrival. We miss him terribly everyday. We lost our kitty in September 2012. Diesel, who was 18 1/2 years old when he passed at home, was (and still is) the Godfather. He is missed terribly by all. They are curled up together sleeping at the bridge under the stars, happy to be sleeping buddies again.

  1. Ohhhhhhhh! The video of Mr. Wilson and Maggie…..ADORABLE!! I mean it!, A.D.O.R.A.B.L.E!!

To get them both to sit still…..side by side……and then to do the “down” simultaneously…. and the EXCELLENCE AWARD foes to Mr. Wilson and Maggie!! And Mom too!! Tremendous skill!! Of course, we know Frank n’ farter was pushing down on Wilson’s butt the whole time!!

And Frank dressed u as a clown? How appropriate!! He, indeed, was your joyful clown!! And he love making you laugh…especially now!!

Very, very sweet photo of Mr. Wilson and his “toy leaf”. Just shows how one can find the joy in the simplest little things! Great life lesson for us all oh wise one! Thanks Professor Wilson!

Thanks for the GREAT warm fuzzies and smiles today!

Hmmmmmmm……..what doyou think Frank n’ farter chose as his costume today? Look on your left shoulder….no, not your right…your LEFT! See him?? OH,! Silly me! Of course you can’t see him, he dressed up as your INVISIBLE ANGEL today!:-) 🙂

    Love and hugs!

  2. Love the videos. I understand the “hollow” feeling you have. I thought about Sassy a lot today. She would have had a good time with my niece & nephew. I know I will be starting Snickers in obedience soon LOL

  3. Yep, first holidays without your beloved sure are tough, I’m so sorry that you had to feel that hollowness (what a good way to put it) but hope that Wilson was able to cheer you up.

He sure looks like he’s got the obedience training down, what a good (and smart!) boy. Thanks for sharing the videos, it’s neat to see him.
